The SSS Cancer Center Biobank (CCB) serves as the central repository for biological specimens and associated clinical information from patients treated within the cancer center.
The biobank is responsible for the collection, processing, storage, and distribution of high-quality, diverse biological specimens in accordance with the National Biospecimen Network (NBN) standards. The facility maintains updated standard operating procedures (SOPs) covering all aspects of biobank operations, including specimen collection, processing, annotation, storage, distribution, and quality assurance.
All collected biospecimens are used exclusively for research purposes. Collection sites include different sites treating cancer patients within LCMC Health system.
